Welcome to the website of the International Church of the Nazarene in Stuttgart, Germany. Our local church is part of an international network of churches belonging to the worldwide Church of the Nazarene and to the World Counsel of Methodist Churches. Our roots lie within the theology of Methodism and the influence of John Wesley. Our historical development, however, took place in the context of the 19th century American History with the growth of the holiness movement inside the greater reform movements going on at that time.
Our church was a coming together of many groups who focused on the meaning of holiness, both for personal living and for the social environment. We are not a splitting off, but a coming together − and this emphasis is the basis for our working together in the local community in Stuttgart − Bad Cannstatt. We come together from different backgrounds and work together in an international setting to form a community that reflects both personal faith and ethical living.

December 2011 - Christmas Boxes for Bosnia: On the 5th of December 2011, Manfred and Petra Gwinner set off to Bosnia to represent our church congregation together with some other participants to deliver shoe boxes stuffed with food and toy-gifts for adults and children that have been donated for Christmas for the needy in Bosnia (approx. 1.500 food parcels and 3.000 parcels for children). Sunday January 1st: We will celebrate the beginning of the New Year in our worship service at 18:00 hours. In this service we will celebrate Communion together and receive our promises for 2012
Monday January 9th - 15th: Evangelical Alliance Prayer Week. Place of Meeting is CVJM in Stuttgart Mitte - 20:00 hours
Friday January 13th: We will have charge of the service in the CVJM Alliance Meeting at 20:00 hours. It would be good, if everyone can come to this service. We will lead the entire eveining with our songs, message and prayer.
Saturday January 21st: Our Annual Meeting will take place followed by our 1st Quarterly Meeting. We will begin at 16:00 hours. Everyone bring your calendar, coffee and cake.
Saturday January 28th: Prayer Breakfast for all. We will meet at 9:15 hours - sign up, call up or mail up!
LOOKING AHEAD
As of now, our German-American Gospel Concert will be on Saturday May 12th. There will be more details as time goes on.
Our Weekend Retreat will be on the weekend of September 28th - 30th, 2012 in Schwarzwaldmühle. Please put this date on your calendars now!!
Activities of the Week:
Sunday Worship and Praise Service at the Friedenskirche, Mergentheimerstr. 15, in Bad Cannstatt, at 18.00 hours. Prayers: 17.30 hours.
Tuesday Evening Bible Study at 19:30 hours, König-Karl-Str. 33
Ladies' Meeting: Once every month alternating betwenn a Friday evening and a Saturday morning. See the calendar events.
Prayer Breakfast: One Saturday in a month, 9.15 hours, König-Karl-Str. 33
Prayer Evening: One Friday evening at 20:00 hours every other month in the fellowship building behind the church.
